The present Mac mouse is a wireless mouse for use with Apple computers.
A group of Apple engineers and Hovey-Kelley had jointly created the Mac mouse design. This was a cheap, handy, and easy-to-use product. The design of electrical and mechanical system of the mouse was simple and easy to manufacture.
The one button mouse design was having most distinctive features. The mouse has a physical ON/OFF switch which is combined with a touch sensor for sleep mode. The mouse was introduced in 1984 and was considered to be central to the Mac systems. Some mouse manufacturers like Kensington made modifications to the one button mouse by providing “right-click” functions.
The original Apple mouse was earlier named as Apple Pro Mouse. An optical mouse was introduced by the company during the year 2000. The old Pro version of the mouse was connected through USB port with a two feet cord.
The same was renamed during the year 2000 as Apple Mouse after its redesign. The Apple Mouse was replaced with a modified new mouse in August 2005 under the name Apple Mighty Mouse. This mouse had a 360° scroll ball, touch sensitive buttons and a pressure sensitive squeeze function. Again in July 2006 the wireless Mighty Mouse was introduced by Apple and the production of Apple Mighty Mouse was stopped.
